Dr. Elena Christofides is the cofounder of MediZen Institute and an esteemed endocrinologist who practices at both MediZen Institute and Endocrinology Associates. She is dual Board-Certified in endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism, and internal medicine.
Education & Experience
Dr. Christofides attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate degree, before completing her Doctor of Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine where she participated in the Interprofessional Council. She then went on into her residency in internal medicine at the Mount Carmel Medical Center, afterward completing her fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Afterward, she founded Endocrinology Associates and MediZen Institute while simultaneously consulting with various companies on biotechnology innovations in the endocrinology and metabolic health space. She continues her research at Endocrinology Research Associates, an independent facility dedicated to advancing endocrine care, and has authored several articles published in medical journals.

Get to Know Dr. Christofides
When she’s not helping patients, Dr. Christofides is equally as passionate about improving patient education! An exceptional public speaker, Dr. Christofides often gives talks on her research and has worked as an adjunct associate professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center as well as a clinical associate professor at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also spends time creating enduring educational materials and advocating for patients, including her book Living with Hypoparathyroidism, and hosting her own series, “Shop with the Doc” where she breaks down how to make the most of your health at the supermarket which won the prestigious Silver Medal at the Telly Awards. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and taking in all Columbus has to offer!
